Chicken Black Pepper Curry

Chicken curry is a regular in almost everyday meal. Isn't it better if you can prepare it a bit differently?

Well follow these easy steps to make Chicken Black Pepper Curry!  


Ingredients


  • Chicken breast - 500g
  • 1 large Onion 
  • 1 large tomato
  • 2 Banana Peppers(Malu miris) or green bell pepper
  • Turmeric powder
  • Garlic - 2 cloves chopped
  • Ginger - Chopped 
  • Rampe leaves
  • Curry leaves
  • Cinnamon - 1 inch stick
  • Black Pepper - Slightly crushed 
  • Tamarind
  • Salt to taste
  • Fortune Cooking Oil

Method

  1. Slice half of the onion the regular way and the other half in to 2 inch size pieces.
  2. Cut the Chicken breasts in to small pieces.
  3. Slice the outside of the Tomato in to 2 inch pieces and chop the middle part and leave it aside. 
  4. Heat Fortune cooking oil and add the chopped Onions,Rampe,curry leaves,chopped green chilies and cinnamon and let it fry.
  5. Add chopped garlic, ginger,turmeric powder ,salt,sliced chicken and Tamarind juice and let it boil for a while.You will get a nice yellow curry.Do not add water or coconut milk in to it.
  6. When it's done add the chopped middle part of the tomato.
  7. Then add crushed pepper,Sliced tomato(big pieces),sliced banana pepper,Onions(2 inch sliced)and a bit of salt and let it simmer for awhile and enjoy it. 
  8. You can add a little bit of chilies powder but make black pepper the main ingredient.
